1934
Mr. Johann Berghofer lays the foundation stone in the old city of Schwaz for the establishment of a paints shop that is the corporate body of today. Oil paints, matting, polishes and floor care products are produced in humble reading rooms.
1947
Mr. Johann Berghofer erects the first fabrication building at the eastern border of Schwaz.
1964
His son and engineer, Mr. Günther Berghofer, together with his mother, Ms. Hermine Berghofer take over the reins of the company after the demise of Mr. Johann Berghofer at the age of 54.
1974-1981
Construction of a new paints and varnishes factory in the industrial district in Schwaz.
1991-1992
Service support centres are opened in Vienna, St. Pölten, Kalsdorf, near Graz and Linz-Leonding.
1994
New construction of an environmental conservation and recycling centre with a waste water treatment plant, cleaning plant for reusable containers as well as waste separation and recycling department.
1997
Setting up a service support centre in Klagenfurt.
2001
Engineer Günther Berghofer hands over the charge of the corporate management to his daughter, Andrea Berghofer and the employee working with them since many years, DI Dr. Manfred Oberreiter. The new and fully automatic high bay warehouse is inaugurated. Customers can be attended to faster with the help of computer-controlled storage and retrieval.
2002
A new research and competence centre with a furniture coating automatic machine and a window line is presented to the customers. The subsidiary company, "ADLER Polska" is established in Poland.
2004
ADLER takes over ownership of the Austrian paints brand, Frenkel and the popular wood filler brand, Grilith. The daily newspaper, "Wirtschaftsblatt", selects ADLER as the best family business in Tyrol.
2005
Inauguration of the new warehouse in Tuggen (CH). The company is awarded the prize for sustainability in the state of Tyrol.
2006-2007
Further expansion of international activities: Establishment of two service support centres for Germany in Essenbach near Landshut and Dornstadt near Ulm.
2008
Establishment of the subsidiary, "ADLER Slovensko". The subsidiary company, "ADLER Ceskpa" is established in the Czech Republic.
2009
ADLER launches a new support centre in Krakow (Poland). Establishment of the subsidiary, "ADLER Italia".
