What does ACC² stand for?
These three letters are an acronym for "ADLER Creative Coatings" – a future-oriented development for the paints factory. We at ADLER depend on a completely new innovation culture and are ready to tread on unconventional paths and have designed a style of play with our new project, ACC².
What influence do colours have on the physical and psychological state of the human being?
What colour psychologists are investigating scientifically today has already been known since ancient times: Colours have an impact on our frame of mind. They can pacify, make you feel drowsy or cheer you up. And particularly within your own four walls, which especially concerns your well-being and wellness, the selection of the right colour shade is one of the most important decisions regarding the furnishing.
Together with the Swiss colour designer, Ms. Daniela Späth, an ADLER Emotion Colors colour chart has been developed, which presents the colour worlds of yellow, orange, red, pink, violet, blue and green and yellowish green – and explains their respective impact in detail and lists the matching fields of application. The new colour advisory chart provides the perfect support for the conscious use of colours.
How does substrate testing and pre-treatment work with metals?
- Step 1:
Remove loose rust using a wire brush or sandpaper, and convert any residual rust using ADLER Ferroblock. - Step 2:
Grind off rust that has infiltrated at specific spots. - Step 3:
Remove grease from galvanised surfaces and aluminium using ADLER Entfetter and Scotch Brite and sand it simultaneously.
How does substrate testing and pre-treatment work with wood?
- Step 1:
Test the strength of the substrate using the fingernail across the wood fibre. In case of substantial scratch marks, remove the loose wood material using a brass wire brush or sandpaper. - Step 2:
Remove the non-adhesive and embrittled old coats using ADLER Abbeizern or hot-air blowers! - Step 3:
Make several longitudinal and transverse cuts at 1mm spacing. Pull off reinforced straps in a jerky manner and bonded parts come off on the adhesive tape with the coat removed.
How does substrate testing and pre-treatment work with brickwork?
- Step 1:
With cracks: e.g. open in the shape of a cone using a putty knife and fill it up with suitable wood filler (use a special gypsum-free putty knife for facades). - Step 2:
Coat the discoloration by water or nicotine (yellowish, brownish) using ADLER Isocryl ! - Step 3:
Solidify powdering coats using primer coats.

Why do you need water-based paints?
ADLER water-based paints provide protection in an environmental-friendly manner, yet reliably so. Despite the low solvent content, water-based paints comply with the high standards of quality in the trade and industry. The modern water-based paint systems are superior to the solvent-based paints in many respects - both ecologically and economically (e.g. Filling power, recycling capability and elasticity).
What are wood preservatives?
Wood preservatives are only those products that contain active biocide substances in order to prevent infliction by fungus or insects or to combat any existing infliction (B = preventive against blueing, P = preventive against fungus, Iv = preventive against insects, Ib = effective in combating insects). ADLER offers a wide range of tested wood preservatives for various fields of application.
