Setting the stage: ADLER is showing the first self-repairing window coating at Frontale 2018
The Fensterbau Frontale trade fair in Nuremberg exhibits the innovations and future technologies of the window industry every two years. As one of the stars of this year's fair, the spotlight was on Aquawood InterCare SH, the first self-repairing window coating from the Austrian paint manufacturer ADLER.

Sustainable protection
With the patented "SH-Technology" for self-repairing coatings, ADLER has achieved a groundbreaking innovation. Microcapsules form the basis of this "smart technology". They burst when the paint surface is damaged, e.g. by a scratch or hail. A transparent, special hardening liquid leaks out and seals the damage – further damage to the wood can thus be prevented. ADLER developed this revolutionary basic technology over the course of numerous tests until product maturity. At Frontale 2018, the Austrian paint manufacturer presented the Aquawood InterCare SH, the first self-repairing coating for wooden windows. The opaque intermediate coating not only ensures high filling power and reliable insulation, but also ensures lasting protection and a perfect surface. "With Aquawood InterCare SH, we offer a unique quality product that has real added value for window manufacturers and their customers," explains Richard Mölk, ADLER's sales manager for the window sector.
Innovation and Inspiration
The self-repairing coating is not the only innovation that will make ADLER shine at Frontale. "We also show interesting possibilities for digital printing on windows – one of the most exciting future topics in the surface sector," reports industry sales manager Daniel Pesserer. In contrast, the new Aquawood Nativa from ADLER combines pure nature with perfect surface protection. In addition, window makers can look forward to Aquawood DSL Carat, an innovative window transparent wood finish with an elegant metallic sheen. And front door manufacturers also get their money's worth in Nuremberg. ADLER shows the diverse design options of the proven Protor system: from the old wood aesthetics to the concrete effect, from metallic sheen to natural understatement – all facets are possible.
